This is the first class of the day. Enter the classrooms and you'll be surprised. They are huge! They almost resmble classrooms that you find in colleges only this room has a corner where students can hang when lessons are over. There are beanbags and bookselves filled with various titles written by famous writers. There's also a large blackboard with letters, number, and notes written on it.

Mala entered through the door, her back pack slung over her shoulder, her instrument case in her hand. This one held a saxophone. Her gaze skimmed the blackboard, as she sidestepped paper airplanes and cheerleaders applying make-up to their already overly painted faces. The derivative of the line of tangent is different then from finding the tangent of a curved line on a graph...
Bleh. Like anyone could understand Calculus enough to explain it.
Mala dropped the bag to around her feet when she reached her desired seat. It was missing a fold out desk portion, but it was fine as a chair. And, it was away from most of her other 'classmates'. Settled, with her instrument case leaning against her knee, Mala surveyed the room, as she would any other day.

Lucid walked into the room about 7 minutes later with a piece of white paper in his hand. He shifted back as a paper plane came flying by his head. Oh! It missed him by just a few inches! He looked over at the teacher and tried to get their attention.
"Excuse me. Am I in the right room?" Lucid asked as the teacher turned to look at him. He handed them the paper. "Yes," they said. "Welcome to Calculus. Attention students." Everyone stopped for a moment to look up at the new kid then they returned to what they were doing before. "Please have a seat anywhere."
Lucid saw a seat up in the front but wondered if there were any other seats. Ha! Nope. With a shrug, Lucid sat down and took out his notebook.

Mala barely registered her teacher attempting to gain control of the class, though she straightened from her slouched position in her chair when she took a second glance at who had entered. Lucid? That stranger from the Football field? Odd.
The teacher began the lesson, probing at students on what they remembered of the Chain Rule, and repeated the lesson from the week before--Not that anyone would proficiently remember the procedure this time around either. Mala absently took notes, adding with her spiked writing from earlier notations, which were skimpy from before.
A paper ball was launched at various times, hitting her in the back of the head, and occasionally skittering across her desk. She stopped opening the notes back in sophomore year, where all the insults had lost their creativity, and ran across the same lines. When she had about four of them around her desk, she softly growled, and swept them up. Leaning back, she pitched one--and it landed in the trashcan near the front corner of the room.
The second one made it, as did the third.
The last one bounced off the rim, stopping behind the instructor's feet, where he promptly stepped on it.

Lucid hadn't even looked around to see the other students. He really didn't care as he tried to ignore their existance. Although it was very hard with paper balls and airplaces flying aroundthe room. He was staring do at his paper, doodling rather then taking notes, when a papper ball hit the rim of his desk.
".." Lucid groaned and, out of habit, he glanced over his shoulder at the rest of the class. Ah! Mala?! She was in this class?
"Heh, well what do you know?" Lucid mumbled to himself with a grin.

Mala caught Lucid's gaze, and gave a small smile, before turning her attention to the teacher, who was looking at her disapprovingly. She gave a casual shrug, which the Professor answered with heavenward glance. The class period seemed to crawl on from that point, but eventually the teacher gave up on the lesson. Fifteen minutes until the bell, Mala stuffed her notebook into her bag. Students left through the classroom door, some hanging out in the corner of the rooms.
Shifting her stuff in her hands, she rose and walked over to a desk near Lucid, which had been abandoned.
" Welcome to Loser High, Lucid."
She leaned on her instrument case rather then sit down, regarding the fellow through wire rimmed spectacles.

Lucid turned to see Mala standing beside him. He smiled to her.
"Loser High? Thought it was called Crenshaw High?" Lucid stood so that they were at eye level and faced her, casually leaning against the desk.
"I had hoped to get to see you, I just didn't think I'd have a class with you. This year just got better." Lucid grinned. To him, it was jsut the two of them in the room. The few remained students that had stayed behind to chat didn't exist to him. They didn't matter.

"It's pretty much all the same."
Mala pushed her frames up her nose, as they were slowly slipping down. She gave him a wry smile, unsure of the implied compliment that was in his tone. At the very least, it should be interesting. Mala looked forward to the prospect of at least one person being a friend in her classes for a time.
"We'll have to see, now won't we? What's the rest of your schedule look like?"

"Let's see. Calc AP first, of course. Then Chem AP, Engl, Econ, Adv. Mixed Choir and then I Aid for some teacher named...Mr. Anderson. (random name I pulled out of my ass @_@)" Lucid read his schedule to her then looked back and smiled.
"What do you have? Maybe we'll have another class together?"

"We share Choir, and I didn't know Mr. Anderson needed another TA. He's a bit of a quack, but he's okay."
Mala was milkdy surprised at the prospect. She hid a smirk, though it wasn't meant to be mean. She was going to love introducing Lucid to Mr. Anderson. Being a 'quack' was mildly speaking, but the man was always impeccable whenever an administrator was around, nuts the rest of the time.
She glanced at the time, ten more minutes until the bell rang, plus a five minute passing period.
"Do you have Peaches, Farmer, or Crockett for English?"

"I heard that he's insanely against the new smoking laws." Lucid laughed as he leaned back in his chair and placed his hands on his head. He seemed to always have a lazy look in his eyes and a smile on his face. He could be kind of goofy though. ADD kid probably.
"English teacher? Hm...well let me see. Crockett?" Lucid pointed at the name on his schedule.

[wasn't he standing?]
"That he is. And Crockett is a bit of a feminist."
She didn't mention that Crockett could be mistaken for a man. At least Lucid might be able to enjoy high school. Mala tapped an absent tune on her case tilting her head at Lucid's relaxed state.
"Any trouble with anybody yet, since you've been here?"
Lucid was a bit of a pretty boy, and with testosterone idiots, who knows what could happen. She was called 'fatty' on a regular basis, and she wondered if it wasn't just her that people seemed to dislike. She was different, yes, but so was Lucid.

[Shh, I sat him back down XD]
"Nah, not yet but if anything happens, people will soon find out not to mess with me." Lucid grinned up at her, knowing that she'd know what he meant. He moved his hand up over his mouth and yawned.
"So, when's lunch?" Standard question. He could look at his schedule but, being the lazy bastard that he was, refused to take out the paper to find out.
[Guesss I've been out of it. School...]

[It's okay. Can I also point out that he already had his schedule out when he read it to her? XD]
Mala nodded, sharing a soft knowing smirk. She chuckled at the 'standard question.' It was only first period. Yeesh.
"Either 11:00 for first lunch, or 11:45 for second lunch. Depends on where your fourth period is."
Mala tapped a different tune on her case, then stopped, listening to a conversation next to her. It wasn't eavesdropping if they spoke loud enough to be heard a mile away. Or so that's what Mala kept telling herself.

[*sigh* Thought I made him put it in his pocket. Trying to think of what a normal student woud actually do. Me? I'd just shove my schedule in my pocket. That and I type these things in the early morning. @_@] Lucid looked at her with a confused expression. His school obviously did things differently. Way differently. At his school, everybody had lunch at the same time which was such a obther since his school had a lot of people so the lines were uber long. Whoever came up with that stupid idea, he didn't know. Lucid sunk into his chair and shrugged. "Eh, guess I'll find out later then." He looked away from her to glance up at the clock. Oh! Just 13 seconds left. Damn. His time with Mala would end soon but at least he'd get to see her later.

[I'm Sorry, I'm Sorry, I'm really, really really sorry!]
"Don't forget to ask your teacher, or you'll end up skipping."
Mala shared a small smirk, having used the excuse once or twice with substitutes. The conversation behind her had stilled, as they watched the clock, counting down under their breaths.
*BUZZ* *BUZZ* *BUZZ*
"....Or we'll end up with one lunch. That's the fire alarm."
And someone had pulled it. Lovely, not the school wasn't already a fire hazard, but pulling it could be annoying at times. Because it was required that everyone evacuate the building, and stand around on the football field while the building was checked.

[For what?]
"So it is. Or else your bells are really annoying." Lucid reached down in search of his bag. Now how the hell did it end up so far back? Some asshole must have kicked. Grumbling, he reached over for it while slowly standing up. Oh, it hurt to stand after sitting in a slouch all period long. He slung his bag over his shoulder and smiled to Mala.
"So, where to?" Lucid probably would have known if he had read the student handbook but what teenager does that?

"Back out to the football field."
Mala waited until most of the class had filed out, smirking at the aggravated teacher. She glanced back at Lucid, through the lenses of her glasses.
"Ya coming, or ya want to skip out?"

"I'd love to skip out but, I mean, it is my first time." Lucid shrugged, closing his eyes about halfway and turning his head away.
"I might as well. Next time though..." His eyes shifted back over to Mala and he grinned, letting her guess the rest of his sentence. Lucid watched as the last few students left in the room walked toward then out the door. The teacher looked over at them, waiting. Lucid sighed. He shifted his bag so that it hung comfortably over his shoulder before walking toward the door with Mala.

Mala gave a rueful smile, surprising thier Calculus teacher as they passed him. Her usual expression was either a smirk or a blank face. Shifting her grip on her instrument case, she shuffled through the narrow doorway, and led the way down the hall.
[If ya wanna keep this going, your turn to post in the Football field.]
